Roppongi Hills

Roppongi Hills is an urban complex in the Roppongi district of Tokyo, opened in 2003. Its centrepiece is the 54-storey Mori Tower, whose top six floors house the Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View, an observation deck with panoramic views of the city. The site also contains Mori Garden, a Japanese garden with a pond and trees that was once part of a mansion belonging to the feudal Mōri clan, and Keyakizaka Street, known for its night-time illumination of 1.2 million LEDs from mid-November until Christmas. The complex also includes shops, restaurants, cafés, cinemas, a hotel (Grand Hyatt Tokyo), a television studio (TV Asahi), an open-air amphitheatre (Roppongi Hills Arena) and several green spaces. In 2005 it hosted the United Buddy Bears exhibition for the first time in Japan, which drew three million visitors in six weeks according to the Mori Group.
