Italica, in Santiponce, was the first Roman city founded in Hispania (206 BC) and the birthplace of the emperors Trajan and Hadrian. Its amphitheatre, with capacity for around 25,000 spectators, was one of the largest in the Empire. The archaeological site preserves streets, houses with mosaics and baths, and has served as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
