An apothecary founded in 1221 by Dominican friars of the convent of Santa Maria Novella, who grew medicinal herbs. It opened to the public in 1612 and is considered one of the oldest working pharmacies in the world. Its rooms, with decorated ceilings and wooden display cases, show perfumes, soaps, eaux de cologne, herbal liqueurs and remedies made to traditional recipes. It is on Via della Scala.
