How we verify and compute the data
Wanloria is a free travel app. This is what lies behind every place, plan and trail we publish.
Places
Every place starts from open sources (OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Wikipedia) and from its official website when it has one. It is only published if it is a real place a traveller would visit; otherwise it is discarded.
Practical details (website, address, phone, opening hours, accessibility, price) are stored with the source they come from, and each place page says when they were checked.
Descriptions are written by an AI using only the verified facts from those sources, without copying their sentences, and are reviewed before publication. If a fact is not verified, it is not written.
Visit times and itineraries
Visit time is estimated by type of place (a large museum takes longer than a viewpoint) and adjusted when the place itself provides data.
The one- to three-day plans group the city's highlights by area and order each day from the most important to the nearest. Walks are computed as a straight line plus 30% for the streets, at 4.5 km/h, with a lunch break.
Hiking trails
Only waymarked trails (GR, PR, SL and equivalents) from OpenStreetMap within 18 km of the city, doable in a day and worth doing.
Distance is measured along the route; elevation with a 90 m elevation model (Open-Meteo), so it may vary by ±10%.
Walking time follows the DIN 33466 standard (distance and elevation, without stops) and difficulty follows the MIDE effort scale from 1 to 5.
If the mapped route doesn't match the trail's official distance, or it is a loose stretch of a long-distance path, it is not published.
Community and corrections
Ratings, reviews and photos come from real people in the community; nobody is paid for them and there are no sponsored places.
