Fortress of medieval origin at the north-western end of the old town, on a hill overlooking the Duero. It is part of the city's walled enclosure, which was a stronghold during the Reconquista, and is surrounded by a park with views of the river and the fertile plain. From its surroundings you can easily see why Zamora was a defensive city.
