Universidad Laboral of Gijón
Complex designed by the architect Luis Moya Blanco and built between 1946 and 1956 as a training centre for the children of miners. With some 270,000 square metres of floor area, it is considered the largest building in Spain. Highlights are the central plaza, the elliptical church, the theatre and the tower of about 117 metres, which has a viewing platform with views of Gijón and the coast. Today it houses the City of Culture (Ciudad de la Cultura).
