ArtScience Museum
The ArtScience Museum is the lotus-flower-shaped building that looks out over the bay from the Marina Bay Sands complex, on Bayfront Avenue. It was designed by the architect Moshe Safdie and opened in 2011. Its structure spreads the rooms out along a kind of fingers or petals that radiate from a central core; each houses a gallery, and light enters through skylights running along the curved interior walls. It has ten of these fingers, a nod to Singapore's "welcoming hand", and 21 galleries. Its permanent exhibition is teamLab Future World, with interactive installations such as the slide "Sliding through the Fruit Field" or "Sketch Aquarium: Connected World", where the fish drawings made by visitors are scanned and set swimming in a digital seabed. From the outside, the building is best seen from the bayside promenade.
