Filmpark Babelsberg
Filmpark Babelsberg opened on 15 August 1991 on the grounds of the Babelsberg studios, as a film and television theme park. Next to it is the oldest large-scale film studio in the world, active since 1912 under the names Deutsche Bioskop, Ufa, DEFA and now Studio Babelsberg, with more than 3,000 film and television productions. The park displays sets and props from various films, a studio tour with filming details and an exhibition on the history of film and television. Its big show is the stunt show, with car chases and special effects, in the 15-metre-high Vulkan Arena with 2,500 covered seats, built in 1999. Another attraction looks at the production of the animated series Das Sandmännchen and the making of the 2010 film. There are themed areas with covered sections for rainy days.
