CultureVisit: ~15 min
Work by the artist Daniel Buren, installed in 1986 in the main courtyard of the Palais-Royal, opposite the Ministry of Culture. It consists of 260 truncated marble columns with black and white stripes, of different heights, forming a grid on the courtyard floor. They were controversial in their day and today are one of the most photographed spots in central Paris.
