Pantheon
CultureVisit: ~45 min
A Roman temple dedicated to all the gods, rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian around AD 126 and converted into a church in 609. Its concrete dome, about 43 metres in diameter, was the largest in the world for centuries and opens at the top with a central oculus. Inside rest the painter Raphael and the first kings of unified Italy. It is in Piazza della Rotonda, in the heart of the historic centre.
