Gibralfaro Castle
Gibralfaro Castle is a fortification in Málaga, listed as a Site of Cultural Interest. It consists of two lines of walls and eight towers, with a rampart walk along the inner wall. At the top, the main courtyard houses the interpretation centre, the 17-metre Main Tower, the Phoenician well and the baths; the Airón well is 40 metres deep. Below, the parade ground once held the barracks and stables, and the White Tower retains a cistern. From the keep there are views of Málaga and, on clear days, of the Rif mountains and the Strait of Gibraltar. In summer, the parade ground hosts concerts as part of the Gibfest festival.
