Singapore River
CultureVisit: ~60 minFree
The Singapore River runs through the city centre and can be walked along its banks, where sculptures evoke the lives of those who worked on the river in Singapore's early days. Along its course you pass bridges from different eras, from the Elgin and Cavenagh to the Helix, and the walk lets you spot monitor lizards and otters that have returned since the water was cleaned up. The area is organised around three quays — Robertson, Clarke and Boat Quay — and the river now flows into Marina Bay, which has become a freshwater reservoir.
