The Palais des Fêtes is a historic concert hall in the Neustadt district of Strasbourg. Built between 1901 and 1903 as the Sängerhaus for the city's male choral society, it stands out for its Art Nouveau architecture with Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance elements, and for having been one of the first reinforced-concrete constructions in Strasbourg. Its large auditorium, with a capacity of 1,200 people, houses a concert organ from 1909 built by Dalstein-Haerpfer, with 56 stops and 3,912 pipes, designed according to the principles of Albert Schweitzer. The building also includes a restaurant, a rehearsal room and a library. Throughout its history it has hosted concerts conducted by Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, Bruno Walter, Wilhelm Furtwängler and Herbert von Karajan, among others. After a complete renovation between 2012 and 2020, the Palais des Fêtes is once again an active venue for concerts and cultural events, and remains the home of the La Philharmonie orchestra and the Strasbourg Choreographic Centre.
