Abeno Harukas

Abeno Harukas is a 300-metre, 60-storey skyscraper in Osaka, built directly above Osaka-Abenobashi Station. It houses a large mixed-use complex with a department store, a Marriott hotel, an art museum and offices. Its main tourist attraction is the Harukas 300 observatory, which occupies floors 58, 59 and 60. The 60th floor is a fully glazed 360° indoor gallery with panoramic views over the Osaka plain, Osaka Castle, Shitennō-ji Temple, Tsūtenkaku Tower, Osaka Bay, Awaji Island and the mountains of Ikoma and Yoshino. The 58th floor has an open-air wooden terrace (Wood Deck) open to the sky, a photo spot called Harukas Heart and a rest area. Part of the observatory floor is made of glass, giving the sensation of floating in the air. The lift travels from the 16th floor to the 60th in 50 seconds. Every evening, between 18:00 and 24:00 (or 19:00–24:00 in summer), a light show is projected around the perimeter of the observatory. The building also houses the Abeno Harukas Art Museum on the 16th floor and a large shopping area with 44 restaurants.
