Downing Street
CultureVisit: ~15 min
A short street in Westminster, laid out in the 17th century by Sir George Downing, where number 10, the official residence of the prime minister, and number 11, that of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, are located. The street is closed to the public by an iron gate at the Whitehall end: it can only be seen from there, between the railings, with the black brick façade and the famous door of number 10 at the end.
