Casa Milà, known as La Pedrera, is at Passeig de Gràcia 92, in the Eixample. Antoni Gaudí designed it for the businessman Pere Milà and his wife Rosario Segimon, and it was built between 1906 and 1912. The building is organised on six floors around two inner courtyards, one circular and one oval, plus a basement, an attic and a roof terrace. On the roof there are about thirty chimneys, ventilation towers and stairwell exits with sculptural forms. The attic, with catenary arches that allow an open space without load-bearing columns, houses the Espai Gaudí, an exhibition on the life and architecture of its creator. Since 2013 it has belonged to the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, which manages the building. It is part of the 1984 UNESCO listing of Gaudí's works.
