Victoria Tower Gardens
Victoria Tower Gardens is a public park along the north bank of the River Thames, next to Victoria Tower and the Palace of Westminster, extending south to Lambeth Bridge between Millbank and the river. Visitors can walk along tree-lined paths with views of the Thames and discover monuments such as Auguste Rodin's sculpture The Burghers of Calais, the statue of Emmeline Pankhurst and the Buxton Memorial Fountain, which commemorates the abolition of slavery in 1833. At the southern end of the park is the Horseferry Playground, a children's play area with a water feature evoking the history of the river. The park also offers guided tours exploring the stories behind its memorials and sculptures, as well as seasonal events focused on themes of social justice and human rights.
