Stadttempel
CultureVisit: ~45 min
Vienna's main synagogue, at Seitenstettengasse 4, in the Bermudadreieck district. It was designed by Joseph Kornhäusel and opened in 1826. It was hidden among residential buildings by Joseph II's edict forbidding synagogues visible from the street, and so survived the Kristallnacht of 1938. Its oval, domed hall stands out.
