Belfast Castle
Belfast Castle is a Victorian sandstone building built between 1867 and 1870 on the slopes of Cave Hill, about 120 metres above sea level, offering clear views of Belfast and Belfast Lough. It is Grade A listed and open to the public daily. Inside there is a visitor centre, an antiques shop, the Millennium Herb Garden, a restaurant and a children's playground. Visitors can see a room styled in the 1920s, showing what the castle looked like at the end of its time as a private residence. The Cavehill Visitor Centre is located within the castle. The official website presents it as one of the most iconic spots for taking in the Belfast skyline.
