In the inner basin of Alicante's port, opposite the Queen's staircase, a nude bronze male figure holds aluminium wings as he appears to walk on the surface of the water thanks to the submerged pedestal that supports him. The work by Esperanza d'Ors, installed in 1999, measures 2.35 metres high and 1.20 wide, and its wax treatment aims to protect the metal from marine corrosion. It is a visual landmark on the port front that invites you to stop and take it in from the promenade.
