The Bir-Hakeim Bridge crosses the River Seine between Paris's 15th and 16th arrondissements and has two levels: one for pedestrians and vehicles, and an upper level carrying metro line 6, supported by metal columns. Steps halfway across the bridge lead down to the Île aux Cygnes, an artificial island in the Seine, and the central arch features four monumental statues representing Science, Labour, Electricity and Commerce. The bridge has appeared in numerous films and music videos, including 'Last Tango in Paris', 'Inception' and 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets'.
