Palacio barroco construido a partir de 1615 para María de Médici, que quiso recordar el Palacio Pitti de su Florencia natal. Desde 1799 alberga la cámara alta francesa y hoy es la sede del Senado. Su interior, con el hemiciclo y la biblioteca decorada por Delacroix, solo se visita en visitas guiadas con reserva y en las Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio; la fachada y el Jardín del Luxemburgo que lo rodea están siempre abiertos.
