Málaga Automobile Museum

The Málaga Automobile and Fashion Museum occupies the former building of the Royal Tobacco Factory, in the Huelin neighbourhood, and was opened on 16 September 2010 after restoration led by architect Carolina Serrano. Across its 6,000 square metres it displays a collection of vehicles and fashion arranged in themed rooms. The car exhibition brings together 120 vehicles, of which 90 are on display, tracing the evolution of the automobile from 1898 with models from marques such as Hispano Suiza, Bugatti, Delage, Packard, Auburn, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes, Ferrari and Lancia. The tour is divided into 13 rooms: Belle Époque, The Twenties, Popular Cars, The Thirties, The Fashion Corner, Design Cars, Dream Cars, English Tradition, Alternative Energies, Engine Room, The Fifties, Tuning and The Sublime Collection. The fashion section includes more than 300 hats from the 1920s-1950s by designers such as Balenciaga, Chanel and Dior, as well as period hatboxes and suitcases. The museum's exterior is decorated with sculptures made from car parts.
