Cantabrian Maritime Museum
The Cantabrian Maritime Museum occupies a building beside Santander Bay organised into four sections: life at sea, fishermen and fisheries, the Cantabrian Sea and the sea in history, and technological innovation at sea. On the ground floor you can explore its aquariums, with a large tank of Cantabrian species such as sharks and rays and smaller aquariums with striking fish; in the central courtyard are displayed the skeletons of whales stranded on the Cantabrian coast, alongside ship models, port tools and historic navigation objects. The visit is rounded off with a café and terrace on the upper floor with views over the bay.
