The Léopold Sédar Senghor Footbridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the River Seine in a single metal arch, connecting the 7th arrondissement with the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Visitors can walk across a surface of exotic wood such as ipe and enjoy benches and lamp posts along the way. At one end, an underground passage gives direct access to the Tuileries Garden from the right bank. The bridge is popularly known as the Bridge of Love, where many couples attach padlocks bearing their names and throw the keys into the Seine as a symbol of their bond.
