Punta del Cavall Tower
Punta del Cavall Tower is a 16th-century defensive tower at the southern tip of the Serra Gelada, on a cliff overlooking Benidorm Bay. Visitors find a truncated conical masonry structure, about eight metres in diameter at the base and with seven metres of height still preserved, completely solid up to that point. The tower was part of the coastal watch network built against Barbary pirate raids, and although only the base survives, recent excavations have uncovered objects such as pottery, espadrilles and musket balls illustrating its historical use. The surrounding area offers a two-kilometre paved track leading to the tower, with panoramic views of the Serra Gelada and the coast along the way.
