San Esteban Archaeological Site
The San Esteban Archaeological Site, also known as the Palace Complex and Andalusi Quarter of San Esteban, is an urban archaeological site from the Andalusi period located in the centre of Murcia. It covers an area of 10,143 square metres in the former garden of San Esteban, next to the Palace of San Esteban. The remains mainly date from the 13th century, with some elements from the 12th and possibly the late 11th century. Visitors can see the layout of streets, houses with central courtyards, a public sewer system and a religious sector with a necropolis and a possible oratory or small mosque. The site offers guided tours by prior booking, lasting 30 minutes with groups of up to 10 people. Tours run Tuesday to Saturday (morning and afternoon) and Sunday mornings.
