National Theatre in Prague
CultureVisit: ~60 minFree
Neo-Renaissance-style theatre beside the Vltava, designed by Josef Zítek and opened in 1881. A fire destroyed it shortly afterwards and it was rebuilt under Josef Schulz, reopening in 1883. It is a symbol of the Czech national revival, and its golden roof with the figures of the auditorium can be seen from the river. Its interior keeps rich decorations and paintings.
