The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is a 1913 building on Avenue Montaigne, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was designed by Auguste Perret and decorated by Antoine Bourdelle, and is considered the first example of Art Deco architecture in the city. It has been a historic monument since 1957. The theatre houses three halls: the main hall, seating 1,905 people, the Comédie, with 601, and the Studio, with 230. Its current programme includes around three opera productions a year, mainly Baroque or chamber opera, an important concert season, and ballet and dance performances. It is home to the Orchestre National de France and the Orchestre Lamoureux, and the French base of the Vienna Philharmonic. Its walls display a free exhibition on the history of the theatre, accessible during intermissions. The building also houses a rooftop restaurant, Maison Blanche.
