The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), opened in 1989, was the first museum of modern and contemporary art in the Valencian Community. It is on Calle Guillem de Castro, next to the Centre del Carme. Its collection includes work by Julio González, a key figure of iron sculpture, and by 20th-century and contemporary artists.
