CultureVisit: ~60 min
Studio of the German sculptor Elisabet Ney (1833-1907), called Formosa, built from 1892. Ney made portraits here of Texas figures such as Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston; many plasters are kept in the building and the marbles are spread across Texas and in the US Capitol in Washington. Currently closed for renovation, with reopening planned for spring 2027; the building stands and can be seen from outside.
