Coliseum Burgos
The Coliseum Burgos is a multipurpose venue shaped like a bullring, opened in 1967 and extensively remodelled in 2015. It keeps its outer façade, covered with green panels to blend into the surroundings, and a permanent roof has been added inside that allows year-round use. With a capacity that varies by event, it can hold almost 9,500 spectators in sports-court configuration and 8,550 for bullfights. Throughout its history it has hosted bullfights, especially during the fiestas of San Pedro y San Pablo (Sampedros), basketball games of the club San Pablo Burgos in the ACB league, matches of the Spanish national basketball team and concerts. In 1975 it hosted the first rock music festival held in Spain, known as La Cochambre. Its location beside the Arlanzón river, in the El Plantío sports area, makes it a reference point for cultural and sports events in Burgos.
