Square in the centre of Seville opened in the 19th century after the demolition of the old convent of San Francisco. On it stands the City Hall, with its 16th-century Plateresque façade, and in the centre an equestrian statue of Ferdinand III the Saint, the king who conquered the city in 1248. It lies between Constitución avenue and the shopping streets of the centre.
