Japanese garden in Golden Gate Park created in 1894 for the California Midwinter International Exposition. Makoto Hagiwara looked after it and expanded it for years. Among its best-known corners are the drum bridge, the five-storey pagoda and the Zen garden. In spring the cherry trees bloom and tea is served in its teahouse.
