A palace commissioned by King Sejong in 1418 for his father, the retired king Taejong. During the Japanese occupation it was turned into a zoo and botanical garden and was later restored. It preserves the Daeonshil greenhouse, from 1909, in Western style, and a pond with a pavilion. It is next to Changdeokgung and connected to the Jongmyo shrine.
