Fontanilla Beach

Playa de la Fontanilla is an urban beach of golden sand and moderate surf in Marbella's old town, next to the marina. It is about 1,100 metres long and around 30 metres wide on average, with a high level of use and every kind of facility. It holds a Blue Flag, recognising water quality, environmental management and safety standards. A series of breakwaters protect the shore from strong waves, making it suitable for families with young children or inexperienced swimmers. The Paseo Marítimo runs the length of the beach, offering an accessible surface for walking, cycling or pushing a pram. There are showers and public toilets, seasonal lifeguards, sunbed and parasol rental, and ramps and amphibious chairs for people with reduced mobility. Dining options include Restaurante La Fontanilla, known for its fresh seafood and salt-baked fish, Chiringuito La Red, popular for its grilled sardine skewers, and Trocadero Playa, with a colonial atmosphere and cocktails. The beach combines easily with a visit to the old town and Plaza de los Naranjos, about ten minutes' walk away, or a stroll towards Puerto Banús along the Golden Mile.
