La Soledad Archaeological Museum
Former fortified Renaissance church from the second half of the 16th century that today houses the Archaeological Museum of Caravaca de la Cruz. The building keeps its square-plan structure with three naves and nine pendentive vaults, supported by Tuscan columns on pedestals. On the outside it looks like a fortress, with a wall reinforced by rectangular buttresses and circular ones at the corners. The main entrance has a lintel formed by a Roman honorary tombstone from the Historic Site of the Estrecho de las Cuevas de la Encarnación, and a Baroque side door from the 17th century. Inside, visitors walk through the naves of the deconsecrated church while viewing the municipal archaeological collections.
