Basilica of Saint-Martin d'Ainay
CultureVisit: ~30 min
Romanesque church in the Ainay district, in the south of the Presqu'île, a former Benedictine abbey consecrated in 1107 by Pope Paschal II. It preserves its four-storey bell tower and a nave of massive columns with carved capitals. It is one of the few medieval buildings that survive on Lyon's Presqu'île. Its sober interior contrasts with the Baroque of other churches in the city.
