Albufera Natural Park
Natural park about 15 kilometres south of València, around the largest freshwater lagoon in Spain, separated from the sea by a strip of dunes and pines. The landscape is made up of rice fields, irrigation channels and traditional barracas, and it is home to many waterbirds. It is the birthplace of the Valencian paella and of the rice grown locally. The village of El Palmar offers trips in traditional boats, especially at sunset.
