Sacromonte
A neighbourhood of Granada on the north slope of the Darro valley, opposite the Alhambra, famous for its cave houses dug into the hillside and for its Gypsy tradition. The zambra, a form of flamenco still performed in the neighbourhood's caves, was born here. Its steep, white streets lined with prickly pears offer views of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada, and it is home to the Caves Museum and the Abbey of Sacromonte.
