Church of San Nicolás
A parish church in the Albaicín, in the Mudéjar-Gothic style and from the 16th century, built for the neighbourhood's Christian community after the conquest of Granada. It stands at the top of the hill, next to the Mirador de San Nicolás, which is a separate place and its neighbour. Its bell tower is what stands out most of the complex from the outside. After a restoration project, the church reopened on 11 March 2022. Today you can enter the church free of charge and climb the tower with a ticket; there is no lift, so access to the tower is by stairs. From the top you can see the Alhambra, the Generalife, the city centre and the Sierra Nevada. Inside you must keep quiet and dress respectfully, and you may photograph without flash or tripod. Visitors are not admitted during liturgical services.
