Sixth Avenue
Sixth Avenue, officially Avenue of the Americas, runs through Manhattan from Tribeca to Central Park South. Along its route it passes through neighbourhoods such as SoHo, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, the Garment District and Midtown. Among its landmarks are the Jefferson Market Courthouse, now a library, the historic Ladies' Mile district with department stores from the late 19th century, Herald Square with Macy's, Bryant Park and Rockefeller Center, which includes Radio City Music Hall. In the corporate stretch above 42nd Street stand the Bank of America Tower, the W. R. Grace Building, the International Center of Photography and Eero Saarinen's CBS Building. The avenue is also the setting for annual parades such as the Village Halloween Parade and the Dominican Day Parade. Its double name is reflected in plaques and signs, and it is well connected by several subway and bus lines.
