Flatiron Building
CultureVisit: ~30 min
A 22-storey building about 87 metres tall, completed in 1902 to a design by Daniel Burnham, at the junction of Fifth Avenue, Broadway and 23rd Street. Its triangular plan, very narrow at the tip, gives it the shape of a clothes iron, flatiron in English. It was one of the first skyscrapers in the city with a steel frame. It is best seen from Madison Square Park, across the street.
