Sanrio Puroland

Sanrio Puroland is an indoor theme park in Tama New Town, Tokyo, dedicated to Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Gudetama and Aggretsuko. Opened in 1990, it draws more than 1.5 million visitors a year and is considered one of Japan's leading theme parks. Visitors can enjoy two dark rides: Sanrio Characters Boat Ride, which tells the story of a party organised by Hello Kitty, and Mymeroad Drive, a car journey through Mariland, the land of My Melody. There are also two walkthrough attractions in Sanrio Town: Lady Kitty House, a residence decorated with Hello Kitty motifs where visitors can take a photo with her, and Kiki & Lala Twinkling Tour, a replica of the birthplace of the Little Twin Stars. The park hosts the main Miracle Gift Parade, which debuted in 2015, as well as daily fireworks shows in summer and light shows. Dining options include Restaurant Yakata, a buffet where the characters appear on stage, and Character Food Court, with character-shaped dishes. There are also several shops, including Entrance Shop, the park's largest, and themed shops for Hello Kitty, My Melody and Gudetama.
