The Marina Bay Street Circuit is the street course where the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix is held. Its route winds through the city centre and passes recognisable places such as the Padang, Anderson Bridge, the Fullerton Hotel, the Esplanade and the Singapore Flyer. The race is run at night and the circuit is lit by about 1,600 floodlights designed specifically for the event. Some corners have names chosen by local fans, such as Sheares, Memorial and Singapore Sling.
