The former Montjuïc circuit was a semi-permanent street circuit that ran through the streets of the mountain park, starting beside the steps of the Palau Nacional and climbing by tight bends to the top of the hill next to the Olympic Stadium before descending again towards the finish. Its profile combined a slow sector and a very fast one, making it a challenge for drivers and mechanics. Today the City Council has signposted the route, so visitors can follow the old circuit on foot or by bicycle and recognise its bends and gradients within the mountain's present-day landscape.
