Monsanto Circuit
LeisureVisit: ~45 minFree
The Monsanto Circuit was a 5.440 km track located in Monsanto forest park, on the outskirts of Lisbon. Its route crossed different surfaces, including tram rails at one point, which made it difficult for drivers. It hosted races between 1954 and 1959, and only the 1959 edition, won by Stirling Moss, was part of the Formula 1 World Championship. The race started at dusk to avoid the harsh sun, so the podium ceremony was held in darkness.
