Prague Castle

Prague Castle is a vast historic complex that houses the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic and has been the seat of the kings of Bohemia, emperors and presidents since the 9th century. Within its walls, visitors can explore the Gothic Cathedral of St Vitus, the Romanesque Basilica of St George, several palaces, gardens, defensive towers and museums, including an art gallery based on the collection of Rudolf II and an exhibition dedicated to Czech history. The castle also holds the Bohemian Crown Jewels in a hidden chamber and hosts cultural events such as the Shakespeare Festival in the courtyard of the Burgrave's Palace.
