New Bach Monument
CultureVisit: ~15 min
Statue of Johann Sebastian Bach by the sculptor Carl Seffner, unveiled in 1908 next to St Thomas Church, on the Thomaskirchhof. Bach was cantor of this church from 1723 until his death in 1750, and here he directed the Thomanerchor. It replaced an earlier monument of 1843, which now stands at another point in the centre.
