Superlambanana
CultureVisit: ~15 min
A yellow sculpture about five metres tall created in 1998 by the Japanese artist Taro Chiezo, a hybrid of a lamb and a banana that alludes to genetic manipulation and to Liverpool’s port past, when banana boats arrived at its docks. Created as a temporary work, it became one of the city’s symbols and has coloured replicas at various points in the centre.
